The Beauty Basics: Green People organic body care

One of the biggest names in organic beauty care in the UK is Green People. About 18 years ago, it all started when Charlotte Vøhtz wanted to help her baby girl that suffered from eczema and allergies. Charlotte created her own natural products, without chemicals, and soon noticed the difference in her daughter’s skin. She decided to share her discoveries with the world and Green People was born.

Green People offers an immense range of products for the whole family that are free of chemicals, not tested on animals, registered by the vegan society and that deliver on their promise. Needless to say allmygoodness had to put it to the test. I tried the following body care products for you:

Intensive Repair Shampoo and Intensive Repair Conditioner

As you may have read in earlier posts, shampoo and conditioner are a big thing for me. The scent needs to be right and it must leave my hair soft and non-frizzy. So, I tried the shampoo and conditioner that best fit my frizz-prone, coloured hair. The products felt nice and the scent is very herbal/natural. So far, so good. brushing my wet hair was no problem at all and after blowdrying it (without styling), my hair did feel soft and ‘held together’, so not as frizzy as usual.

Moisturising Shower Gel

Shower gel should feel like a micro spa experience, preferably. This one does that. Because of the soft feeling and the scent (herbal-buttery) you feel taken care of. Nice one.

Gentle Cleanse & Make-up remover

Perfect gentle and soft cleanser with aloe vera. Again that herbal, bit zesty scent. Does the trick, and great to know I am not smearing chemicals all over my face (of which about 60% goes right through your skin and into your system). Nice detail: it has marshmallow as ingredient.

Fruit Scrub Exfoliator

This is a very nice, gentle yet effective scrub with a nice fruity scent: apricot, mandarin and bergamot. Be careful not to eat it – although it probably wouldn’t hurt you.

Vita Min Fix 24-hour cream

As a mum of three going head first into my forties, it’s all hands on deck to preserve what is left of my youth. So, this Green People anti-ageing cream was not about to get an easy review. I want results. The cream feels light yet compact at the same time. It really feeds your skin, without feeling like it is clogging the pores. Scent is herbal and fresh. It is too soon to know if it works well as an anti-ageing cream, but it looks promising.

Green People products are available almost all over the world, either in shops or online.
