With Spring around the corner, what better time than now to start planning your next city trip. Berlin is a spectacular place to find eco-friendly and organic products.

Oranienstraße_berlinOn the Eastern streets of Kreuzberg you can find retro-chic jumble shops amidst the hectic and exciting atmosphere. The bubbling Turkish Shishas and rich foods can be enjoyed on Oranienstrasse whilst dipping in and out of these Aladdin’s caves of Vintage fashion. Try Colours on Bergmannstrasse for bold 60’s and 70’s prints.

Allmygoodness were lucky enough to discover Cashmere knits and embelished shirts in Ariane on Weilandstrasse, just around the corner from Savigny Platz overground station. These goods look as though they belong to the yesteryear residents of this affluent neighbourhood. The window of Ariane is displayed with items that probably once adorned the windows of the KaDeWe (The German equivalent of Harrods).

Mauerpark is translated as Wall park and is named such after the parts of the Berlin wall which can still be seen there. Mauerpark Flohmarkt (flee market) runs every Sunday in Prenzlauerberg and there are some excellent bargains to be had. You can explore the mish mash of stalls and find unique furnishings for your home whilst enjoying the organic food from the stalls.

Mauerpark also has the Bear Pit karaoke every Sunday afternoon which is free to take part in. Spectators sit on the auditorium shaped grassy hill amongst their newly purchased Kaiser Honig (honey), organic Wilde Gartnerei juice or antique furniture whilst absorbing the light-hearted surroundings. So if a shopping experience and carnival atmosphere excites you then this is definitely the place for you.

Berlin has so much to offer the eco and organic traveller so get booking for an experience that you will not forget!
