Refashioner.com: online haut-vintage

refashionerAlthough current designers are creating beautiful pieces, I’ve always had a thing for vintage and pre-loved. I couldn’t be more thrilled about New York based Refashioner, a new online vintage marketplace – and more. Here is how they describe their concept:

“Founded by editor, writer, fashion addict (and former professional boxer) Kate Sekules, Refashioner is where like-minded fashion friends can get together and buy, sell and swap, not just great unloved garments, shoes and accessories, but their stories too.

Our aim is not merely to provide a marketplace for the great under-worn pieces in the backs of all our closets, but also to honor the life of the clothes, to give them a good send-off, and to love them all over again. We say, don’t just recycle, HAUTE-cycle!

Refashioner is…

  • A place for style snobs who love turnover but hate waste.
  • A business based on sharing.
  • A cashless designer store (use your proceeds, and shop for free!)
  • A secondary market as beautifully curated as the original designers’ ateliers.
  • Where shopping too much can save the planet.
  • Fun.”

Well, I have spent some time browsing the shop and blog and I am loving it! The presentation of the items is clear and personal, the collection impressive and I love the fact that you can swap instead of pay.

hermesbagMy personal favourites are a wonderful Kelly bag and Fendi LBD… so dive in those closets and let’s get swapping, ladies!
