top_right1 Vegetarian restaurants often have a stigma attached to them. Will they fill me up? Are they really worth the money? allmygoodness were introduced to The Gate by our vegetarian and vegan friends. The Gate’s organic and delicious dishes are excellent. The restaurant itself has a cool, spacious, Mediterranean feel, with intricate tiled walls and a cool Grecian whitewash. The restaurant’s charm and ambience makes it a fantastic restaurant for a date and the larger tables are perfect for family or friends to get together.

Adrian and Michael Daniel have been running The Gate since December 1989. The cooking at the Gate reflects the diverse cultural background in which Adrian and Michael grew up – what one might call Indo-Iraqi Jewish. Their grandmothers blended Indian and Arabic cuisines with the traditional Jewish food. The food they serve is the food of their childhood, modulated by French and Italian influence. preview1

The Gate has an excellent lunchtime menu. They also have a great evening atmosphere whereby hard workers can come from the City nearby to relax and rewind after a busy week.

allmygoodness recommend the Sweet potato and pomegranate salad which is speckled with organic Feta cheese, puy lentils, baby mustard, spinach, spring onion and mint, served with a tahini & smoked paprika dressing. Not only are these dishes delicious, they are brilliantly healthy so you can fill up on a  hearty meal without feeling any guilt.
