Kohl eyeliner

Kohl is an ancient eye cosmetic, traditionally made by grinding galena (lead sulfide) and other ingredients. It is widely used in South Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, the Horn of Africa, and parts of West Africa to darken the eyelids and as mascara for the eyelashes.

Kohl has been worn since the 3000 BC when it adorned the eyes of Egyptian queens and noble women. Kohl eyeliner became popular throughout the last century. From the doe eyed snaps of Twiggy in the sixties to the heydays of Amy Winehouse.

There are a number of organic Kohl eyeliners on the market and allmygoodness have summarised the best of the bunch:

Terra d’Oc – Kohl Liner

Beauty Without Cruelty Pencil – Soft Kohl Carbon Black

Lavera – Trend Soft Pencil

 UNE – Absolute Blacks Kohl

Buy an organic, Kohl eyeliner and define your peepers with this timeless cosmetic.
